Stradbroke Island!!

Hello, this is Kanako.

Today, we went to Stradbroke Island which is a next island to Queensland. We needed to take a ferry to go to the island, so we had to be at school by 7:30 this morning! Everyone looked so sleepy in the bus lol After 40 minutes driving from school, we were on the ferry. It was really chill and we could stay in the bus, but everyone got out from the bus and took many pictures of themselves and sea. After we arrived, we had morning tea and learned Aborigine culture.
A guy who is half Aborigine and half European explained us what tools Aborigine used for hunting kangaroos, and how to use weapons like boomerangs.
Then, we did traditional face paintings with white paint. Boys had lines and girls had dots on their faces. We all learned Aborigine dancing and it was so much fun! Also, we painted a small boomerang with 4 colors. The 4 colors have meanings. Black stands for Aborigine people, white for sprits, yellow for the sun and finally red for the mother of the earth. While we were waiting for our boomerangs to dry, we had a fun throwing a small and light boomerang. Then, we move to a different beach to have BBQ lunch. It was really warm and the lunch and view were awesome!! We also went a short walking to see massive views and found whales. They weren’t close enough to see but we actually saw the water blowing. After that, we ate ice cream in the famous ice cream shop in the island and took a ferry back to Queensland. Some people went home and some stayed in the city to have a meal.
We had a great time in Strabroke Island and learned much about Australian culture today.

Tomorrow, we are going to do BBQ by ourselves.
im really looking forward it!! Hope it will be fine tomorrow XD
